HOW DO WE DO THIS ?
By offering no less than a three-in-one evening of theatre, artwork and culinary delights to go along with every story from far-away places that we present!
1.) Staged Readings :
At each performance, we enchant audiences with a Staged Reading of a play from a diverse corner of the world, performed by professional actors, singers and movement artists; and ...
2.) Galleries of Artwork :
At each Staged Reading, we also feature an Art Gallery from the city, country or region featured in the story, and ...
3.) Culinary Delights
At each Staged Reading / Art Gallery, we also feature Culinary Delights from that same city, country and/or region wherein the story takes place!
Et voilà ... ! You'll have an all-encompassing experience - all in one evening!! AND sometimes -- just to spice things up even more -- we'll take the whole experience to a restaurant that features dining from the region where the Readers Theatre presentation takes place, creating a one-of-a-kind, Readers Theatre - Dinner Theatre and World Travel experience all wrapped into one!

THEY TOLD US that it would take a lot of 'moxie' to realize our dream of 'bringing stories from everywhere to everywhere else' so, of course, we took the bait. Within short order - to our delight - we discovered that the good folks at
The Minneapolis Sister Cities Program
share dreams and goals similar to ours! So in 2015, Théâtres du Monde and the Minneapolis Sister Cities Program formed an official partnership to create Readers Theatre productions that would feature the international cities where the City of Minneapolis already has a thriving Sister City connection !! ... Talk about 'building bridges!'

"THEATRES du MONDE" translates to something along the lines of 'theatre of the world' or 'world theatre' ... but we just like to think of ourselves as GLOBAL STORYTELLERS ...
OUR MISSION is to build bridges connecting international cultures and communities by sharing the stories, artwork ... and great food ... of diverse regions of the globe with everyone who comes through our doors! We're excited to search out and present original scripts, as well as some classics stories, from every part of our planet! ... And, that is why our motto is :

OUR GOAL is to give theatre goers an exciting, "three-in-one" experience of far-off places – all without having to leave their own locales. HOWEVER, we also hope that our unique brand of 'virtual theatrical, cultural and culinary travel' will *spark* a desire in audience members to actually go visit some of regions whose stories we present! We also hope that our 'theatrical-travel-culinary' productions will excite audience members to reach out and get to know members of their own local communities who hail from a diversity of backgrounds!
